How to Move Photos from Couldn’t Upload Album to iCloud Library

If some of your photos can’t be synced to iCloud, learn how to move them from the Couldn’t Upload album to Library.

When you check Library Status at the bottom of the Photos app on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, you might see that some photos or videos can’t be synced to iCloud Photos. You may also see a status message saying Failed to sync [número de elementos] with iCloud and a new album Could not upload to the Photos app.

To add these photos or videos to iCloud Photos, you can try exporting them from the Photos app and importing them again. Any edits or keywords you previously applied to these photos or videos will be lost.

Reupload your photos or videos to iCloud on your iPhone or iPad

  1. In the Photos app, select the album Could not be uploaded.
  2. Touch Select > Select All to select all files.
  3. Tap the Share button > Save to Files. Then choose a location under On My iPhone and tap Save to save the files to your device.
  4. Open the Files app to confirm that the files have been exported.
  5. To remove files from the Failed to Upload album, tap the Trash button > Delete. Choose the Recently Deleted album, tap Select, then tap Delete All > Delete to confirm.
  6. To re-import the files, select the folder that contains the files in the Files app. Next, tap the Share button How to Move Photos from Couldn’t Upload Album to iCloud Library and save.

When you import the files again, you can delete them from the save location on your device to save storage space on your iPhone.

Reload photos or videos to iCloud on Mac

To see which items couldn’t be synced to iCloud in the Photos app, click the View button next to the message that appears at the bottom of the Library window, or click Failed to upload in the sidebar. You can try re-importing the items from the Couldn’t Upload to Photos Library album to sync the items with iCloud Photos.

  1. Press the Command and A keys to select all items in the Failed to Load album, select File > Export, and then select Export Unmodified Original From [número] Photos.
You can see the photos that didn't upload to iCloud Photo Library in the Failed to upload folder.
  2. In the subsequent dialogs, click Export, select a save location, and then click Export Originals.
  3. After exporting the items, make sure they’re all selected in the album, then choose Image > Delete [número] photos or videos.
  4. Click Delete and then OK.
  5. Select the Recently Deleted album in the sidebar, then select Delete All. Or, select only the items you just deleted.
  6. Choose File > Import, then choose the images you exported earlier. For items that were successfully synced to iCloud Photos, any edits or keywords you’ve added to the affected items may be lost.
