WhatsApp is one of the applications that we use the most on our mobile phone, both to deal with the messages we receive and to send to our contacts. Beyond the normal use we can make of the automatic messaging application to send and receive photos, files or videos, we can use it to our personal advantage like a makeshift notepad.
How to send messages to ourselves
Who has never sent an email or a message to remind us that we have to do something. Although we have an app available for this purpose, sometimes the easiest thing to do is use the app we are using. If we suddenly remember something that we are using WhatsApp, the fastest thing to do is send a message to ourselves. something that already we could use a shortcut but now it has become a function of the app. At the moment not all users have access to it, but it will soon reach all users. Until now it was possible to create a group with a contact from the list and once created, expel him from the group. This way we were left alone and could share any content with ourselves as if we were doing it in any other group.
An easy way to use your instant messaging app as a makeshift notepad, or an easy way to do it quickly share information between devices. so if we send a photo to ourselves we can download it to another device in which we logged in to WhatsApp. The novelty we are referring to is that of the app itself automatically create a new contact with our phone number, so that when we access the new chat or group option, we find that the first of our contacts is ourselves. The username and our phone number are displayed so that we can use our profile as we would any other contact in our agenda. So if we want to send us any content, we can do it without resorting to the tricks of the past.
- To do this, click on the green button in the lower right corner of the screen to start a new conversation.
- Select your contact, this way we start new chat.
- now it remains alone send us a first message so that the conversation is recorded and we can continue using the chat.
- It works the same way as the rest of the chats, the only thing we can do nothing but block them ourselves or silence ourselves, something otherwise normal. The rest of the options, such as emptying the chat or archiving, can be done without any kind of limitation.
Another option that makes it easier for us to manage our conversations and that gives us the possibility of giving the messaging app other uses. Making it a potential reminder tool for ourselves or even for have multiple files, videos or photos at hand that we need to share and we don’t want to waste time looking for them among the content we store on our devices.
