Magnets are objects that are found in mining areas and can actually attract other metals.

The name of the magnet is given from the Greek i.e magnitis lithos which means Magnesian stone.

Magnesian is one of the names of areas where rocks with magnetic content are found

Apart from being able to attract iron, magnets have several other unique properties.

Magnets are rocks that have two poles, positive and negative.

Each of these poles is located at the end of the magnet and has such a strong force.

The two poles are also called the north and south poles, because the north pole always points to the north and the south always points to the south of the Earth.

Now, because of the strong magnetism, this object can attract iron, but there must be a barrier.

Barriers such as glass, paper or cloth do not make the magnet work in attracting the iron away.
