How to Make Lomo Saltado: Delicious Peruvian Recipe for the Whole Family

Today we bring you a Peruvian recipe, Lomo Saltado. This delicious dish can be accompanied with rice and French fries. That the whole family will surely love.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pound beef tenderloin (cut into thin strips)
  • 2 garlic cloves (finely chopped)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • 1 small red onion (thickly sliced)
  • 2 tomatoes (cut into thick slices)
  • 1 yellow chili pepper (cut into thin strips)
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons of red wine vinegar
  • 1/3 cup of beef broth
  • 1/2 cup cilantro (coarsely chopped)

PREPARATION:

  • Season the meat with garlic, salt and pepper.
  • Place a frying pan over very high heat. Add the oil and sauté the meat, a few strips at a time (2 minutes per batch) so that they do not sweat, but rather brown.
  • Add the onion, tomato, chili and sauté everything for approximately 2 to 3 minutes. The tomatoes and onion should be crisp, not mushy. Add the soy sauce and vinegar to the sides of the pan and mix everything together. Add the meat broth (beef) and cook 1 1/2 minutes more. Taste to adjust seasoning.
  • Turn off the heat, add the chopped cilantro and serve with French fries and white rice.
