On July 1, the science and art exhibition “Field Research” created by the Institute of Environmental Solutions will be opened, which will take place this summer in the barn of Cēsis Castle Manor and the Science and Art Center “Brūzis”, the organizers informed. Artists and scientists from Latvia and abroad have jointly sought answers to the question – how to live in balance between nature, human desires and needs?
The results of the research will be presented in the barn of Cēsis Castle, which during the exhibition will turn into a process and experimental space with installations, soundscapes, texts, films and performances. In addition to works of art, it will also be possible to watch a selection of Latvian short films “Naturally” created by film director and viewer Julius Nuhum Kulibali, which has been created in cooperation with the 25th Riga International Short Film Festival “2ANNAS”.
The exhibition consists of installation and performance artist Linda Bolshakova, ethnobotany research group “DiGe”, choreographers Eriks Eriksons and association “IevaKrish” with singer Jolanta Strikaitis, director Mārtiņš Zvirbulis and dancers Emīlija Bergila and lyricists Emīlija Bergs and architect and urbanist Līva Kreislere, designer Anete Krūmiņa, ceramicist and porcelain master Esmeralda Purvišķe, sound artist and architect Maksims Šenteļevs, lyricist Alīse Vorobeja, illustrator and muralist Zahars Ze and poet Marija Luīze Meļķe. Rūta Abaja, a biologist from the Institute of Environmental Solutions, Kristīne Berķe-Ļubinska, Head of the Laboratory of Practical Entomology, Dr. Dainis Jakovels, agronomist Dr. Arta Kronberga, climate ambassador Uģis Rotbergs, landscape designer Dace Zariņa, LU LFMI researcher Dr. Una Smilgaine, LIFE CRAFT farmers and others.
The exhibition will be open from July 1 to August 29, on Thursdays and Fridays from 14.00 to 20.00, on Saturdays and Sundays from 12.00 to 20.00 in the barn of Cēsis Castle and in the territory of the Science and Art Center “Brūzis”.
