Spotify improves the way users share and interact with songs and podcast episodes by introducing a new mini player experience that allows listeners to enjoy streaming audio directly within Facebook, without switching applications.
Hereinafter, Spotify Premium users from countries like Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, among 22 others, can discover and experience songs and episodes with full playback directly from Spotify within the Facebook app on iOS and Android.
Those who own Spotify Free can enjoy the same experience through shuffle mode with Spotify ads.
Beyond sharing their news on Facebook, fans can also play songs through the mini player experience in verified artist posts, or even within Facebook user-uploaded videos containing licensed music.
This is how you should start the mini player:
Tap play on the song or podcast episode that you, a friend, family member, or favorite creator shared from Spotify on their Facebook news feed.
The first time you use the player, you will see a consent dialog open, click Connect to continue.
If you are logged into Spotify, the applications will switch automatically and playback will start from the Spotify application. (If you are not logged in, you will be prompted to do so.)
Spotify continues to play even if you keep scrolling down your Facebook feed, but you will have control over the playback options so you can pause or dismiss the mini player.
