“How to Iron Shirts and Pants Effortlessly and with Power – CSID: Doctor, What’s the Update?”

From today ironing will be a pleasure: turn the chore of ironing shirts and suit pants into a pleasure with the following tricks.

There are few people I’ve heard say how much they enjoy ironing; moreover, at one point a meme went viral on social networks giving thanks to the inventors of the washing machine, the dishwasher, while “the inventor of the iron and the ironing board must have been making fun of us”.

Ironies and jokes aside, ironing can be a chore, and ironing shirts or suit pants can be an art or a complete failure, only when you think about the stripes you have to do.

However, there are some simple tricks that will surely make your work easier: you will be able to finish faster and keep your clothes looking elegant and neat.

First the shirts, then the pants

If you have to iron both items of clothing, it would be best to start with the shirts, primarily because they are easier to iron and less prone to wrinkling.

Shirts – tricks to iron them easily

Make sure the surface you are walking on is clean

Use a flat, smooth and clean table or surface – make sure there are no objects that can interfere with the ironing process or, worse, stain the clothes.

Iron the collar and cuffs

For a fluidity of the process, but also because these are the smallest pieces of fabric, start with the collar and then the cuffs. Iron them on both sides, then fold them over.

Iron the front and back of the shirt

Continue ironing the shirt with the front parts, then move to the widest part that corresponds to the back.

Lay the shirt on the ironing surface and start ironing from the top of the collar to the bottom. Finally, iron the sleeves so they don’t wrinkle. Although there are people who iron the collar, cuffs and sleeves, then the rest of the material, but the first option is much more effective.

Pants – tricks to iron them easily

Iron the pockets and then the leg material

Although it seems counter-intuitive, start by ironing the pockets (you take the pockets out, iron them, then put them back in) and the waist (by placing the iron on the fabric and not by rubbing to avoid creases), then continue with the front and back of the legs .

Iron them on the inside to avoid damaging the fabric, less when you have to make them a stripe and you need to iron them on the outside of the fabric, using a handkerchief (if you have such around the house) or a soft material.

To iron with stripes, pick up both seams of the leg and lay it on its side on the ironing board. Both seams should be aligned. Rather press iron starting at the top of the pants – so that the two points meet.

The stripe must end at the bottom of the pockets, not at the cuff.

Other general tricks

  • Iron clothes with steam: to make the ironing process easier, it uses steam that removes wrinkles and helps to smooth the fabric.
  • Fold clothes carefully: After you have finished ironing your clothes, before storing them, fold them carefully.
  • Make sure clothes are stored in a dry and well-ventilated place to prevent mold or unpleasant odors from forming.
