It is the number one instant messaging application in the world, with millions of users. WhatsApp needs no introduction. Even so, there are still many people who until today have resisted using it. Now, with the new stage of the platform (it is now called WhatsApp from Meta), it is a good time to take that step. In this post we will see how Install WhatsApp on iPhone.
The truth is that this new phase in the history of WhatsApp presents many new features. Above all, the improvements in terms of privacy and security stand out, as well as the use on various devices or the transfer of chats between iOS and Android.
Download and install WhatsApp on iPhone
These are the steps to install WhatsApp on the iPhone, step by step. First of all, we have to download the application from the Apple Store. This is the download link:
After clicking on «Install», we will have to enter our Apple ID to continue with the download. Once completed (the process may take a few minutes), we can start it with the “Open” button or simply by clicking on the WhatsApp icon that will appear in the start menu of our iPhone.
Important: before continuing, we have to make sure that our device is compatible with the instant messaging application, your device needs to be compatible. Actually, almost all iPhone models are, since the minimum requirements are quite affordable. We can affirm that the phone must have version iOS 10 or later. That means that we will only be able to install WhatsApp on the iPhone 5 and the following models.

- The last step is the check. To complete the process, we will receive a SMS with a 6-digit code that we will have to insert in the dialog box that will appear on the screen.

Security settings
All WhatsApp chats are protected by an encryption system. The first time we go to establish a conversation, the following message will be displayed. “Calls and messages sent to this chat are now secure with end-to-end encryption. Click for more information ».
To verify the contact manually, you can click on the contact and, in the information screen that opens, on the blue padlock. This will give way to the image with a sequence of 60 digits and a QR code that we can scan (as shown in the image above).
There are also other additional security settings that can be enabled and that may be interesting for using WhatsApp on an iPhone:
- Show security notifications. Every time there is a change in the security settings of one of our contacts, we will receive a notification. To activate this configuration we have to go to the menu settings and from there to “Bill”where we select the option “Security”. Finally, we slide the button “Show security settings” to the right.
- iCloud Backup. To make this copy, you have to enter the Settings menu, select Chats and choose the option “Conversation Backup”.
