WARTAKOTALIVE.COM, JAKARTA – Since being pregnant, a mother can choose to give birth normally (vaginally) or Caesarean section.
Caesarean section can be performed on the basis of medical indications or preferences of parents, especially mothers.
According to 2018 Riskesdas data, the prevalence of caesarean delivery in Indonesia is 17.6 percent.
This figure is above that recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO), which states that the cesarean delivery rate is 10-15 percent of total births.
Not only in Indonesia, in several countries the figure even reaches more than 30 percent.
In fact, various studies have shown that children born by caesarean section are associated with the risk of long-term diseases such as asthma, food allergies, obesity and Diabetes Mellitus.
However, whatever the delivery action, the child’s immunity must be maintained because in general, the caesarean delivery process can affect the child’s immunity.
