Use Snapchat for group discussions but would you like things to be improved? Using the app’s Chat Reply and Bitmoji Reactions, you can do just that. In the old days of 2011, Snapchat was a very simple app. It could be used to send vanishing photos to friends – and that was basically it. Snapchat’s big pitch was that it was the “fastest way to share a moment on iOS”, sending images up to 10 times faster than the old MMS standard.
In 2022, Snapchat is in a many different place. The app still allows users to send photos back and forth, but that’s only a small part of the Snapchat experience. It is also home to TikTok-like videos, original shows, stories, AR stickers, games, and more. It can all be a bit overwhelming! Plus, with Snapchat steadily adding more and more features, keeping track of what’s available has quickly become a chore.
While no one finds all of Snapchat’s features useful, two that are worth checking out are chat reply and Bitmoji reactions — two things that greatly improve the Snapchat group chat experience. Snapchat has quickly become a popular place to have group messages with friends. However, as more and more people are added to a group chat, it can be difficult to keep conversations from spiraling out of control. Chat Reply is a great way to solve this problem. If you want to reply to a specific message in a group chat without derailing everything, long-press on a message, wait for the pop-up menu to appear, and tap “Reply to chat.” This allows you to reply to that specific message in its own thread, just like threads in Discord, Telegram, etc.
How to Use Bitmoji Reactions in Snapchat
Want another way to improve group chats? Bitmoji reactions can be a game changer. Sometimes in a group chat, all you want is to let someone know that you saw their message, or that you like/dislike something they sent. If everyone sends their own message to do this, things become very cluttered very quickly. Bitmoji reactions prevent this from happening. Similar to reactions in other messaging apps, they allow you to react to a message without sending another one. And, since this is Snapchat, the reactions all feature your personalized Bitmoji. Long-press on a message in Snapchat and choose one of seven reactions at the top of the pop-up menu. There is a love reaction, a laugh/cry reaction, love and dislike reactions, and more.
While these might seem like very simple fixes, they go a long way in making Snapchat group chats more manageable. Chat Reply keeps conversations more organized, while Bitmoji Reactions reduces unnecessary messages. Combined, the two things are invaluable tools you don’t want to use. Snapchat without.
