My son turned a year earlier this month. We have received many gifts from friends and family Amazon. But we’re not sure where to send thank you cards.
If you buy an item from Amazon and send it elsewhere, it will only arrive in a box with no feedback whatsoever to the recipient as to who shipped it. Amazon knows that you registered your purchase through its website. It usually makes sense. However, if you are sending a gift, you must mark it as a gift before completing the purchase.
By doing this, Amazon ships the item with a gift card and a note stating who bought the item. And then people like me know who to thank. (By the way, thanks for the gifts).

- Find an item you want to buy and add it to your cart on Amazon.
- On the Cart Subtotal screen that then opens, click on the small checkbox that reads “This order includes a gift”.

How to send a gift from Amazon

- Click Continue to exit.
- You’ll see a screen here with an option to personalize a message – it’ll be automatically filled with the phrase “Hey, enjoy your gift!” And notice who he is.
- Make sure to check the Gift Card box if you want the recipient to have the option to return or exchange it. The prices are hidden.
- You can add an optional gift bag for an additional fee. In this example, my fee is about $5.
- Click on “Save Gift Options”.
- Select your payment method and pay as usual.
This is! Now the recipient of your gift knows who sent it.
