Bad news for sports and culture lovers. Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte signed a new one decree which re-proposes a situation similar to that of March. In fact, from today, Monday 26 October, all gyms, swimming pools, theaters and cinemas will be closed. This scenario will continue until November 24th. Those who had taken advantage of the reopening to go back to training or enjoying a show, wonder what will happen to their subscription. Here’s how to get reimbursed for gym and theater subscriptions after the new DPCM.
Swimming pools, gyms and sports facilities
How to get reimbursement for gym and theater subscriptions after the new DPCM? To answer this question, it is necessary to go back to Relaunch Decree. The rule clarified the rights of customers of swimming pools, gyms and any type of sports facility. In the event that they were unable to use the services already paid for due to the first lockdown, they could request a refund. The only requirement was to show the purchase title, or the subscription contract. As an alternative to the refund, the manager of the sports facility could issue a voucher.
This was usable within one year of the end of the restrictions. However, many have wondered how to behave in case they no longer want to return to the gym. In this circumstance, consumer associations recommend that you ask for a refund. If the manager of the gym or swimming pool does not accept, it is necessary to send a registered letter or a pec of formal notice.
The case of concerts and other shows
The case of concerts and other types of shows is slightly different. The event organizer can issue a voucher for an amount equal to the ticket already paid, which was not able to be used. However, it is not possible to oblige the holder of the voucher to use it for the concert of a different artist. If the artist’s performance originally envisaged is canceled, or postponed to a date after the validity of the voucher, the organizer must immediately provide for the refund.
