One half of the lunar duo with Cresselia, Darkrai is a legendary dark dude. It has the appearance of a ghost or shadow and is known as Pokémon Pitch-Black.
In the original Nintendo DS games from 2006, players could meet him on Newmoon Island after obtaining the membership card at an event. But is Darkrai in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl?
The Mythic is typically found on Newmoon Island in the series.

Can you get Darkrai in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl?
Not actually, Darkrai no está en Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl. Their event is scheduled in the games that you can access if you have a hacked Nintendo Switch console, but there is no legitimate way to add it to your team at the time of writing.
You need the membership card again to get to Newmoon Island, which ILCA will likely post on BDSP later via Mystery Gift. Once that happens, follow the steps below:
- After getting the Membership card going by Mysterious gift and getting the National Pokédex, capture Cresselia on Fullmoon Island saving the sailor’s son in Canalave City. Check out our guide for this here.
- To return to Canalave City and enter the house behind the Pokémon Center. Talk to the man there who will tell you that he has a reservation for you.
- You will fall asleep in bed and wake up on Newmoon Island.
- Advance until you arrive a forest where Darkrai lurks.
