How to Fix Spotify App Crashing on Android – Latest News and Solutions

In the last couple of days, Spotify released an update to its Android app which caused the app to not work completely. This issue leaves the app unable to open, crashing within a second or two of trying to open it for the first time.

And unlike the last time when there was an app crash issue as well, things haven’t been left functional in delivering services like Android Auto.

However, the issue appears to be limited only to Spotify’s latest beta update for Android, version 8.9.2.169.

The problem first appeared on Saturday, December 30, and continues to this day with no sign of an update to fix it.

But the safest route would be to leave the Spotify beta in the Play Store, uninstall the app, and then reinstall it using the stable version.

However, it is worth noting that any uninstallation will mean that any downloaded content for offline use will also be deleted.
