How to Find Wifi Password in Windows
The simplest method to get to your saved Wi-Fi passwords is to use the Network and Sharing Center. This is part of the old Control Panel, which was somewhat hidden in recent versions of Windows. Luckily, it’s very easy to reach.
If you are using Windows 11 or 10, click Start, start typing “Network and Sharing Center.” You’ll see it after enough letters have been typed…
For Windows 7 and 8 users, press Windows key + S to open Search, then type Control Panel, and you will find Network and Sharing Center in the window that opens. Or just click Start Menu and you will see an option to open Control Panel.
The Network and Sharing Center provides a basic overview of the type of connection to the network you have for that computer. In the image below, you’ll see that we have two connections: Ethernet and Wi-Fi. Click on the Wi-Fi connection.
A new window will open, showing various details about the connection, including the SSID (your Wi-Fi name), data transfer rate, and activity.
Look for the Wireless Properties button – click on it. In this new window there are two tabs showing, go to Security. This is where you will find the password for the Wi-Fi connection as shown below.
By default, your Network security key is hidden, so tick the Show characters option. Note you must have Admin rights to do this. Once you’ve retrieved your Wi-Fi password, you can simply close all windows.
