The most important things in brief
-
Many of us use WhatsApp every day to stay in touch with other people and to communicate with them regularly.
-
There is a practical broadcast function that not only allows us to update several contacts at the same time – we can also use it to find out who has actually saved our cell phone number.
Anyone who uses the WhatsApp messenger service can quickly and easily connect with family, friends or colleagues. We only need the corresponding number to stay in touch with others and newspictures or videos. If you want to find out which of your contacts has saved your mobile number, you can find out using the broadcast function.

WhatsApp: How to see who has saved your number
Are you curious who you are in his or her Contact list Unfortunately, WhatsApp does not yet have a clear list or option that tells you this straight away. But with the help of the Broadcast-Features you can still find out which of your contacts has saved your number. Below we will show you how to do this for Apple and Android devices.

How it works with Apple devices:
Using the broadcast function, you can not only send a message to multiple contacts at once, but also see who has you in their WhatsApp contact list. With these Steps it’s very simple:
- In WhatsApp, you will find the option “Broadcasts” in “Chats” at the top left of the screen. Click on it and then tap “New List”.
- Under “Recipients”, select one of your contacts who you know has saved your phone number.
- Now add another contact to the list who you want to know if they have your number.
- Tap “Create” in the bar at the top right. Your broadcast will now be created on WhatsApp and a corresponding chat page will open.
- Write a test message and send it to the people you have already selected.
- Wait 2-3 hours to give contacts enough time to read your sent message. After that, you can check the status of your message using the info button. More on that below.
- If your contact is listed under “Read by,” it seems that they have actually saved your cell phone number. However, if the person appears under “Delivered to,” then they most likely do not have you in their contact list and therefore cannot see your message.
Please note Check your sent message that some people are rarely active on WhatsApp. They may therefore need longer to read a message than others.
Here’s how it works with Android devices:
If you have an Android device, you can find out who has saved you in his or her contact list with these eight simple steps:

- In the drop-down menu, select “New Broadcast”, which should open a list of your contacts.
- Select at least one of your contacts who you know has saved your phone number.
- Now add other contacts who you would like to know if they also have your number.
- Tap the Check mark im green circle in the lower right corner. A broadcast is now created and the corresponding chat page is opened.
- Write a test message and send it to the contacts you have already selected – just click the Send button.
- Wait two to three hours so that people have enough time to read your message. After that, you can use the Info-Button the Status your sent message check. More on this below.
- If your contact is listed under “Read by,” it seems like they have your cell phone number saved. However, if the person appears under “Delivered to,” they most likely don’t have you in their contact list and won’t be able to see your message.
How to find out if and when your WhatsApp message has been read
You’ve probably noticed the check marks at the bottom right of a message on WhatsApp: They symbolize whether your message has been received and read by the recipient. You can find out what the colors of the WhatsApp check marks mean here. However, if you want to find out exactly when your message was delivered and read, you can actually do that using the info button. We’ll tell you how this works below.
On Apple devices, there are two ways to find out the message info on WhatsApp:
- Swipe your sent message from right to left to find out when it has been read by the other Person delivered and was read.
- Alternatively, tap on the message and wait until a Pop-up-Menü appears. Under the Option “Info” you can now find out when the message was received and seen.
If you have an Android device, you need to tap and hold the message you sent until a menu pops up. Click on the three dots and then tap “Info” in the top right of the screen. Now you can see if and when your message was received and read.
Remember that in private chats this information is only visible if the contact has Read receipt activated. In group chats and broadcasts, however, you can find out the information from all recipients.
