How to factory reset iPad and erase all content and settings

Whether you are selling your iPad, having problems, or just wanting to get a fresh start, you might need to reset it for a variety of reasons. Let’s take a look at factory reset your iPad and wipe everything.

One important thing to keep in mind while working on factory reset your iPad is that you will need to be connected to a Wi-Fi or cellular network and know your Apple ID password if Find My iPad is activated. .

Before proceeding with erasing your iPad, you can sign out of the App Store and iCloud (although iPadOS will require you to sign out of iCloud later if Find My iPad is turned on).

How to Factory Reset iPad and Erase All Content

In iOS 15

Open the Applying settings then choose General
Swipe down and tap Transfer or reset iPad
Faucet Clear all content and settings, enter your password (if you have one) Follow the prompts

In iOS 14 and earlier

Tap Settings, then tap General
Swipe down and tap Reset
Faucet Clear all content and settings, enter your password (if you have one) Press Erase iPad, Faucet Erase iPad again to confirm Enter your Apple ID password and press Wipe off in the upper right corner

At this point, all the information on your iPad has been erased and you should see the iOS home screen as when you first bought your iPad. You’re ready to turn your device over to someone else, restore from a backup, or set your iPad up like new.

Now choose the second option from the top, Clear all content and settings. Decide if you want to take another backup or reset your iPad now.

Now enter your password if necessary and press Wipe off.

You will now be prompted to enter your Apple ID password if you’re still signed in and Find My iPad is turned on. After entering it, press Wipe off in the upper right corner.

The process sometimes takes a few minutes, but your iPad factory reset should be complete.
