The owner of the beautiful red convertible Egils Simanovskis is a well-known “Alfa Romeo” enthusiast. He has been restoring vehicles for eight years and once kept an amazing pace – one car was restored during the year. Egils started his passion for this brand with the 1974 model, but realized that the real one would be the first Alfa Romeo Spider model. The intended car was searched for a long time, until colleagues from the Lithuanian “Alfa Romeo” club helped to get to this car, which was in a very sad condition at that time.
The Alfa Romeo Spider is the best-selling in the American market, where there was once a huge demand for a sports and gingerbread car. The film “The Graduate” with Dastin Hoffman, where such a convertible also plays a big role, contributed.
Egils’ car is good – it is the most powerful device of the year with a volume of 1.75 liters, 140 horsepower and a weight of just under a ton. During the restoration process, the owner has adhered to the standard to the maximum and has preserved the original equipment of the vehicle. Paul Timrot admits that he is on the ground, because this is the most pedantic car seen – every button in the cabin shines and springs, and the beauty continues under the hood.
There are not many Alfa Romeo Spider models in the world, so a respectable result requires significant investment, manual work and parts, the cost of which is increasing every year. We will find out what amount to take into account in order to elegantly renovate such a car in the new series of the show.
In this season of “Speed Tribe”, Paul Timrot and the broadcast team continue to look for speed, adventure and interesting interlocutors. “Ātruma tribts” can also be viewed every Thursday on “LMT Smart Television”, in the application “LMT Straume” and on the Internet. Viewers are invited to participate in the Twitter conversations with the # Speed Tribe theme.
