Basics of venting
Bleeding radiators is an important step to achieve efficient heating and energy savings. Before venting, it is advisable to turn on the heating at maximum output and, in the case of houses, to turn off the circulation pump. Wait approximately half an hour for the air in the radiators to accumulate and the venting to be more effective.
Prepare a bowl and a rag to catch the leaking water. Slowly release the valve to the left until you hear a hiss of air. Wait until the hissing stops and water begins to leak, then close the valve.
Automatic vent valves
For those who want to make venting easier, there are automatic vent valves. These valves ensure that the radiator is always optimally vented without the need for manual intervention. Automatic valves work on the principle of floats, which fall when air accumulates and close the drain hole after air is released.
