The new version of the operating system is now ready, but it will not be available for all Apple phones: the company reserves the right to update for mobiles from 2018 onwards.

When will the update to iOS 18 begin?
The update to iOS 18 is now available from Monday 16 September in the afternoon. If you have a compatible iPhone, you don’t have to wait any longer. However, keep in mind that the update is quite large (approximately 3.5 GB), so you will need some free space on your iPhone.
How to download the update to iOS 18
If you have an iPhone compatible with iOS 18, here are the steps you need to take to get access to the update:
- Make sure you are connected to a WiFi network and that it is fast enough. Failing that, you can update if you have an unlimited data plan: iOS 18 requires a download of several gigabytes.
- Our recommendation is to back up your iPhone. You never know.
- Go to your iPhone settings, under the gear icon.
- Go to the “General” tab.
- Go to “Software Update”.
- You will see that your iPhone searches for a new version: if it finds iOS 18, it will ask you to update.
- Accept, confirm with your security code and iOS 18 will begin downloading.
- Alternatively, You can update your iPhone with a Mac or Windows computer if you use iTunes. Connect it to your computer with a USB cable and update from the disk drive on Mac (you’ll have to trust the iPhone) or from the iOS update options. The system will offer you a backup beforehand: accept it.
After the process you will have iOS 18 fully installed on your iPhone. In principle, there should be no problems, since the software is in a stable phase, but it is possible that the download or installation is interrupted. In this case, repeat the process.
