Remove Snapchat from your phone

Removing the Snapchat app from your phone already removes much of the temptation of opening the messages. Removing Snapchat is just like removing any other app. Hold your finger on the app icon for two seconds and you will see the screen change. Then tap the icon on an iPhone. On Android, tap the trash can or drag the app to your trash.

The app has now been removed from your smartphone. You will no longer see it and you will no longer receive notifications. But… your account still exists. Want to pick up Snapchat again? Then you install the app, log in and continue where you left off.

Delete your Snapchat account

Cancel Snapchat from your computer

The best way to delete your Snapchat account is to log into Snapchat on your computer.

• Go to accounts.snapchat.comlog in and click on delete my account
• Enter your Username and Password for verification
• Click Continue. Snapchat will deactivate your account and delete everything after 30 days

• Tap your avatar at the top left
• Tap the gear icon in the top right

• Go to your profile

• Swipe up on the Snap you want to delete, then tap the trash can

• Tap the settings wheel in your profile to go to Settings
• Tap Spotlight and Snap Map to view the Snaps
• Tap the trash can to delete the Snap
