How to delete a Facebook account

Surely you have ever considered deleting your account from Facebook, either because it is very old, because you are tired of it or because you need a more professional one. This process is usually easybut it entails taking into account certain aspects, since once deleted, the data cannot be recovered.

From Facebook they warn of the consequences of permanently deleting the account of the social network. These include the inability to account reactivation; the permanent deletion of profile, photos, publications and all the content that has been added and will not be able to use the login of Facebook in other applications in which that account has been registered. The company also warns that if the Facebook account is linked to Oculusthe information on it will also be deleted.


Steps to delete Facebook account

The brand recommends before deleting the account, log in and download a copy of the information (photos and posts) from the Facebook account, as well as from Oculus, in case they are linked.

Facebook points out that the steps to permanently delete an account are as follows:

  1. In the main profile, you must click on the arrow located at the top right.
  2. is selected “Settings and privacy” and then “Settings”.
  3. You have to select “Your Facebook information” in the left column. “If you have access to Facebook on a page in the new experience: Click Privacy, and then click Your Facebook Information.”
  4. Click on “Deactivation and removal“.
  5. Choose “Delete account” and then “Go to account deletion”.
  6. Finally, select “Delete account” and write the password, later clicking on “Continue“.

In this way, the deletion of the account would already be completed. However, Facebook offers the option to cancel removal before past thirty days. Once this time has elapsed, the deletion will be irreversible.
