Call links allow users to make large scale calls by sharing the call room link.
Whatsapp Call Link is now available on almost all iOS and Android devices. CEO Half Mark Zuckerberg announced the feature last month, which can be used for both voice and video calls.
Although it has only been announced a few weeks ago, the Call Link feature is now available to users. This allows users to make large-scale calls by sharing the call room link.
The other participants can join the call by clicking on the link received. This feature can be found in the Calls tab of WhatsApp with the “Create Call Link” option. Also, here’s how to make a call via link on WhatsApp.
- Open the WhatsApp application.
- Go to the Calls or Calls page.
- Click Create Call Link, then select a call type: voice or video.
- Then, there are several options for sending the link, including sending it directly via WhatsApp, copying the link, or sending it via another application.
- Thus, the sender of the link can join the call at any time.
Unlike Zoom or other video streaming applications in general, Call Link on WhatsApp does not implement a host system. Participants have their respective rights to enter and exit calls. The call will not drop when the linker leaves the room.
Also, as Android Police notes (20/10), WhatsApp treats all calls as group calls, even if they only invite one person. Connected calls will have a shortcut icon for easy identification in the call log.
