Cleaning make-up brushes and applicators is a very important practice. It is essential for the health and beauty of the skin, even before the success of the make-up. How to clean make-up brushes effectively and without damaging them?
It is not difficult at all. All it takes is a little time, water and soap. There are special cleaners for the bristles, often recommended by the manufacturers themselves. But it is possible to use a mild soap. A mild liquid cleanser, mild shampoo, or a little castile soap will work fine.
The bristles they can be synthetic or natural, and the latter in turn of animal or vegetable origin. Natural ones are soft and delicate, so don’t use aggressive products. The procedure
Soap the bristles by holding the brush upside down, in a small bowl with water and detergent or under warm running water. To deeply cleanse the bristles, you can gently rub the brush over a knurled rubber glove, or an exfoliating glove. Proceed with circular movements, always paying attention not to soap the attachment between the bristles and the handle, that is the ring nut.
Finally, rinse well until all residues are removed. Squeeze lightly.
A lot of care is needed for drying. First dab with a clean and dry cloth, without rubbing. With the fingers the original shape of the brush is recomposed and then it is laid down, again on a cloth or clean paper. The ideal would be to leave the part of the bristles suspended, for example from the edge of a shelf, so that it does not get crushed. But the important thing is that they are not pressed into a container and that they do not have the bristles upwards. This would cause the water to flow inside.
Do not use hair dryers because it could ruin them. Allow the brushes to dry completely before using them again. Obviously the smaller ones will take a few hours, the large and thick ones even a day.

It depends on how often you wear makeup. If you use them every day, it is best to wash them once a week. For those who use them occasionally, cleaning every fifteen days will suffice. If you only use powdered products, you can spend a few more days. If you do this regularly, it will still take less time to get rid of the accumulated makeup. It is a good idea to wash new brushes before use, perhaps with a little alcohol. The skin will thank you.
