Which buildings are eligible?
New constructions, reconstructions or construction additions are exempt from property tax for the two years following their completion. The exemption applies from January 1 following the completion of construction.
Thus, the purchase of new housing or the construction of a house can benefit from it.
A total or partial exemption
The exemption is total if your building is used for housing, whether it is a main residence or a secondary residence.
But it will be partial if your building is assigned to a use other than housing (industrial, commercial, etc.). It will in fact be necessary to settle the share which falls to the municipality and that which falls to the intercommunality.
What steps should you take?
You must send a request for temporary exemption to tax Center on which your accommodation depends no later than 90 days after completion of the work.
