The National Health Fund (Fonasa) operates with a pay-as-you-go system, where all contributory beneficiaries contribute 7% of their taxable income to access a Single Health Plan.
What are the benefits that you can access if you are a Fonasa member? We’ll tell you then.
Health loans or hospital debt forgiveness
Allows you to finance part or all of the account associated with a health care program. This document must identify the data of the patient, the provider and the type of procedure or surgical intervention required.
The loan is paid in monthly installments, which cannot exceed 10% of your income. In the case of emergency medical care (emergency law), the monthly payment cannot exceed 5% of your income.
You can also request the cancellation of a hospital debt, however, acceptance will be subject to a socioeconomic evaluation.
Bono PAD
With the PAD bonus (Payment Associated with a Diagnosis) you will be able to access 73 health benefits under the Free Choice Modality (MLE), which allows you to know in advance the amount (copayment) that you must pay in the private establishment in agreement with Fonasa.
This benefit allows Fonasa members to attend a clinic with a bonus of up to 75%. For example, if the delivery has a value of $ 1,112,950, the beneficiary pays only $ 278,240
EYE-GES
The AUGE-GES plan guarantees coverage of 85 pathologies through Fonasa and Isapres, ensuring care from suspicion and diagnostic confirmation, to treatment and subsequent monitoring and control of the health problem, depending on the pathology.

- If you are in section C, your copayment will be 10%, with an annual cap.

Preventive Medicine Exam
It is a periodic health evaluation, voluntary and free. This test allows timely detection of high-occurrence diseases in the country, in order to act immediately through the control and treatment of it.

Fonasa has a low and high complexity assisted fertilization program through the public health network or Institutional Care Modality (MAI), and the network of private institutions in agreement.
If you want to access the fertility program through the private health network in agreement with Fonasa, you must buy a PAD (Payment Associated with a Diagnosis) voucher.
