Richard Cwiertnia worked on construction sites after school. Today, 860,000 people follow him on his Tiktok account.

In June he earned 9000 euros with advertising cooperation. Business Insider has seen evidence to verify this.

His tip for people who also want to start with Tiktok: Upload two videos every day for 30 days to learn from them.

Richard Cwiertnia looks more like a tennis player than a TikTok star at first glance when we meet him at the Business Insider office. It’s a warm July day in Berlin, the thermometer is scratching the 40 degree mark. He wears white shorts and a white shirt, the top buttons are open. Also included: a tennis racket, which he will need in a moment. After the interview, he goes to training.

But tennis is not the reason why we meet. The 28-year-old doesn’t make his money on the red clay court, but on the short video platform Tiktok. More than 860,000 people follow him there. He earned 9,000 euros in June with advertising cooperations in his videos, in which he primarily makes fun of his own culture. Cwiertnia, son of a Russian mother and a Polish father, uploads short skits to the platform. For example, one is entitled “When the Eastern Bloc father goes shopping”. Starring: Cwiertnia plays an “Eastern Bloc Father” in a singlet as he walks the aisles of a supermarket – and makes fun of rice milk.
