how they promise to punish the executioners – tsn.ua

Russia’s attempt to accuse Ukraine of having killed its servicemen in the Yelenovka colony has failed. Numerous omissions in fresh Russian lies, as well as the habit of the aggressor to lie in general, did not inspire confidence in the world.

Western leaders condemned yet another Russian war crime. The UN is ready to send its experts for a comprehensive investigation if there is agreement from all parties. So far, only Ukraine has agreed. Meanwhile, the Azov regiment announced a hunt for the killers of their brethren – they vow to find them, wherever they are, it is said in TSN.

Responsibility for the murder of Ukrainian prisoners of war in a colony in Elenovka Russia immediately tried to transfer to Ukraine. The hostile Ministry of Defense announced that the Ukrainian Armed Forces from the Hymars allegedly got into the building where the captured “Azov” were located and showed the fragments of missiles on television.

At a closed briefing at the United States Department of Defense, a senior official, on condition of anonymity, commented in hot pursuit: “They said that he had pieces of HIMARS, which was used to strike. Look, the Russians have a lot of HIMARS wreckage, right? I mean, the Ukrainians launched HIMARS in them a lot. So it doesn’t surprise me. It also wouldn’t surprise me if the Russians wanted to divert us from the information path and say that the Ukrainians did it.”

The head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dmitry Kuleba, called on the UN, which facilitated the exit of the “Azovites” from Mariupol, as a result of which they fell into Russian captivity, to visit the crime scene and establish all the facts. The UN speaker responded with readiness, but, they say, this requires the consent of all parties. Russia, under whose control Elenevka is now, did not give such consent, at least publicly. The Russian embassy in the UK broke out in a hate tweet: “Azov fighters deserve to be executed, but not by shooting, but by hanging, because they are not real soldiers. They deserve a humiliating death.”

Twitter separately marked this message – they say, it violates the rules of the community, but they decided not to block the tweet in the public interest. British MP Chris Bryant called on Foreign Secretary Liz Truss to expel the entire Russian embassy for inciting hatred.

Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleg Nikolenko wrote that when diplomats publicly call for the execution of prisoners of war, they themselves are war criminals. “Read this when you are told that Russia cannot be isolated. There is no difference between Russian diplomats calling for the death penalty for Ukrainian prisoners of war and Russian troops doing it in Yelenovka,” Nikolenko wrote.

World leaders react unequivocally to the murder in Yelenovka. US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken expressed condolences to his Ukrainian counterpart Kuleba and assured that Russia would be held accountable for the atrocities.

EU chief diplomat José Borrell added that this war crime committed by Russia is a violation of the Geneva Conventions.

There can be no return to relations with war criminals, Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas commented.

Meanwhile, “Azov” announced a hunt for the perpetrators and organizers of the murder of their fellows. They will be brought to legal responsibility, the acting commander of the regiment said. “We are already finding out the names of the perpetrators and organizers of the death penalty of our prisoners. We have preliminary information, but it is not yet ready to voice it. We will find them wherever they are – in the occupied territories of Ukraine, in Russia or in third countries. I want to remind Putin, who is personally responsible for this crime, that they don’t talk about the rope in the hanged man’s house. “You yourself will be executed, along with your embassies, everything as you like, with all certificates and seals, by decision of the international tribunal,” he assured.

Ukrainian intelligence believes that the execution of Ukrainian prisoners of war was organized by the Wagner group, its goal is to hide the theft of funds allocated for the maintenance of prisoners. On Monday in Olenovka they were just expecting a commission from Moscow. In favor of the fact that the explosion in the barracks was planned is also evidenced by the fact that, according to Russian information, not a single Russian caretaker or collaborator in the colony was injured.

Actions dedicated to the tragedy were also held throughout Europe. Paris, Berlin, Hamburg, London, Warsaw, Krakow – thousands of protesters with Ukrainian flags and printed photographs of the atrocity in Yelenovka took to the central streets. They honored the memory of the killed fighters and called on the West to provide the necessary weapons to Ukraine as soon as possible, as promised.
