European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen received a standing ovation on Wednesday after her first State Of The Union. She was thanked extensively for the way she tries to guide the EU through the corona storm. A serious turnaround, because when she took office almost ten months ago, she was widely reviled as a weak figure. Now even the accusation is that she is acting too presidential.
