The Public Relations Center of the FSB of Russia and the press service of the Investigative Committee reported details about the detention of a resident of the Ryazan region who carried out a terrorist attack on the railway on November 11 on instructions from the Ukrainian special services.
The arrest itself became known the day before. According to the Investigative Committee, the suspect planted an IED on the Rybnoye – Checkpoint 204th km section in the Ryazan region, as a result of which 15 cars of a passing freight train overturned.
“He turned out to be a resident of the Ryazan region, born in 1988, who has Russian and Italian citizenship. During the interrogation, the detainee confessed, the Investigative Committee reported.
The detainee himself admitted that in February 2023 in Istanbul he was recruited by an employee of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, after which he underwent sabotage training in Jekabpils (Latvia) with the direct participation of the Latvian special services and in March 2023 returned to Ryazan. According to the FSB, on July 20, 2023, on the instructions of a curator from the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, he manufactured explosive devices, which, using four quadcopters, attacked the Dyaghilevo military airfield in Ryazan.
During the searches, components for making IEDs, communications equipment and electronic media with photo and video reports of the crimes he committed were confiscated from the detainee.
In the near future, he will be charged in a criminal case of blowing up a freight train, initiated by investigators of the Western Interregional Investigation Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation under Part 2 of Art. 205 (terrorist attack) and part 3 of Art. 222.1 (illegal acquisition, storage, explosives or explosive devices) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
Measures are being taken to verify his involvement in other terrorist attacks and sabotage on instructions from the Ukrainian special services, the FSB noted.
As reported EADaily , On November 30, telegram channels reported that at Moscow’s Vnukovo airport, security forces detained a saboteur who carried out a terrorist attack on the railway tracks in Ryazan. The saboteur turned out to be a 35-year-old resident of Ryazan Ruslan S. During the interrogation, the detainee stated that he “acted for ideological reasons” and confessed to the incident.
