How the results of the first round reshape the local political landscape in Chartres

The former government parties of the Fifth Republic, on the right and on the left, are the big losers in the first round of the presidential election, which was held on Sunday April 10.

This national phenomenon is confirmed in Chartres, where voters placed Emmanuel Macron (LREM) at the top of the ballot, ahead of Jean-Luc Mélenchon (LFI) and Marine Le Pen (RN).

The PS vote, as in 2017, does not take off. Socialist candidate Anne Hidalgo won only 358 votes (or 2.1% of the vote) in the prefecture city of Eure-et-Loir.
