Minister of Labor, Raluca Turcan, said on Monday evening that there are discussions about the increase pensionsfrom 2022.
“We will announce how much we will index pensions at the beginning of next year. For next year we are applying the current law, so pensions can be indexed with the inflation rate and part of the increase in average gross earnings. This is the formula for increasing pensions, we will decide with what percentage will we index pensions, “Turcan said.
“We are discussing how pensions will evolve next year, but as Minister of Labor I have a responsibility to announce any increase in pensions when it is already decided. The pension system is far too affected and the situation of penitentiaries in Romania “At the level of the approximately 5 million pensioners, it is largely dramatic. If we look at the average pension level of 1500 lei, in the public pension system, the reality is dramatic”, added the Minister of Labor.
