Publishing names and photos surrounding the Mallorca drama leads to discomfort, frustration and even anger at the Public Prosecution Service, but the phenomenon is not new. It happens more and more that ‘online Netherlands’ does not wait for an investigation by the judicial authorities, but starts the investigation itself – and then immediately makes a statement on social media. There seems to be little that can be done against digital witch hunts.
