The Air Force tells the students to leave their cell phones in their bags, to give up the tablets, video games, war games and any kind of games they have for a while, in order to offer them something better: To pilot an F-16, with the help of a flight simulator.
In order to actually pilot it, BIMAtodotis writes, they will not need to go to an air base to meet it, but will bring it to their school, home, village (for the residents of remote areas) to live a special experience of magical flight and who knows (for the students) maybe they will live it again, a few years later, in a real cockpit this time, without excluding the cockpits of… F-35.
The goal of this program is twofold. On the one hand, to strengthen the contact of young people with aviation and cutting-edge technologies, and on the other hand, to promote the image of the Air Force as an institution that supports all social groups, regardless of geographical or economic limitations, notes the same source.
The opportunity for young people to experience flight through simulators can enhance their interest in aviation, promoting knowledge and appreciation of aviation capabilities and technological progress, in an area that requires expertise and passion.
The first flight for students starts (tomorrow) from Ioannina from October 2 to 7, followed by Kastoria, Kozani, Xanthi, Alexandroupoli until November 4.
