How Russia foils the VSU counteroffensive –

/ world today news/ On Monday evening, a series of explosions were heard in Pavlograd in industrial facilities, ammunition and fuel warehouses. The city is one of the storage and logistics centers of the upcoming counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. How will the Russian pre-emptive actions affect the enemy’s plans and will the Russian armed forces succeed in thwarting the VSU offensive?

On Monday, the press secretary of the Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov, announced that during the night, the Russian armed forces launched a group missile strike with a long-range high-precision weapon with an air and sea base against sites of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine. As a result of the Russian attack, according to him, the work of the enterprises producing ammunition, weapons and military equipment for the Ukrainian troops was disrupted.

In particular, Russian forces have struck railway infrastructure and ammunition depots in Pavlograd (Dnipropetrovsk region). The Ukrainian Armed Forces were accumulating them for an offensive in the direction of Zaporozhye, believes the chairman of the movement “We are together with Russia” Vladimir Rogov. He predicted that the enemy would now have logistical problems, which would delay the planned counteroffensive by several days or even weeks.

According to the chairman of the Dnepropetrovsk regional administration, Serhiy Lysak, seven missiles were fired at the region, some of which are believed to have been shot down by Ukrainian air defense. He did not specify the number of hits. At the same time, he reported damage to an industrial plant in the city. In addition, the authorities of Pavlograd urged local residents not to post on the network photos and videos of the consequences of the attack on the VSU facilities.

Russian military correspondents showed the consequences of the attack on the transport hub in Pavlograd. The footage, in particular, was published on the Telegram channel “Operation Z: The Military Correspondents of the Russian Spring”.

Military expert Boris Rozhin noted in his Telegram channel that a “local apocalypse” has occurred as a result of the Russian attack on the VSU facilities in this area. “Secondary detonations were noted. Maybe they hit an equipment and ammunition train. In any case, great job. We need more and more of this,” he wrote.

According to the Telegram channel of the Russian Ministry of Defense, in addition to Pavlograd, night shelling was also carried out in a number of other areas. Thus, a command and observation post was hit in the Ugledar region of the Donetsk People’s Republic. In addition, headquarters facilities and logistics infrastructure are destroyed.

“High-precision strikes are being carried out on enemy headquarters and command posts, as well as equipment, ammunition and personnel. It can be said that we have begun to take measures to prevent the concentration of enemy forces in certain areas,” commented the military historian and director of the Air Defense Forces Museum, Yuriy Knutov.

“Nevertheless, the authorities in Kyiv continue to prepare for a counteroffensive. We must therefore take action to prevent them from putting their plans into action and thwarting the counteroffensive,” he said.

“Now we can see that the enemy is pulling air defense systems, including missiles, to the front line. Of course, we notice all this and, if possible, destroy it. The more these are disabled, the less likely it is that the air defense will cover the advancing Ukrainian troops,” the source said.

“Therefore, our attention is focused on the destruction of the S-300 and Buk systems, as well as the Cheetah self-propelled anti-aircraft guns, which in some cases can operate on low-flying aircraft and helicopters,” the expert believes.

“Judging by the footage from Pavlograd, the explosions are really powerful – we see a huge glow and a serious detonation of ammunition. According to the nature of the explosion, it can be fairly confidently assumed that air defense systems were hit there, most likely S-300, “commented the military analyst Mikhail Onufrienko.

“By virtue of the explosions and repeated detonations, it can be assumed that the strikes hit warehouses with a large amount of ammunition stockpiled for the counteroffensive. In addition, the Pavlograd Chemical Plant, which works for Ukraine’s defense industry, was hit. It is surprising that we did not do this earlier, since explosives are manufactured there, “the expert added.

“Also logical and inevitable were the strikes on the railway infrastructure. For a long time, we only hit the energy infrastructure and did not affect the transport infrastructure. However, such actions have been proposed for a very long time,” he said.

“If we do not destroy the bridges on the left bank, then at least it is necessary to destroy the railway junctions near the front line. Because directly through them permanent reinforcements are accumulating in anticipation of the upcoming counteroffensive,” Onufrienko added. “It is clear that such a development of events will not benefit the enemy. At the same time, this will hardly negate the offensive itself and the need to resist it. Therefore, from our side, we are doing everything to make it easier to repel a counterattack in the future,” the expert believes.

“These days, the VSU completed the transfer of several brigades to the Zaporizhzhia direction. Some of them were completed and completed right in Pavlograd. There were also the main bases and reserves for an offensive in this direction. Therefore, I think that this strike will greatly affect their ability to attack,” commented Vladimir Rogov, chairman of the “We are together with Russia” movement.

“Among others, the Pavlograd Chemical Plant, which produced explosives used for the production of Grom-2 operational-tactical missile systems, was also hit,” he added. “This defense enterprise was extremely important for the Ukrainian army. Of course, it is possible to create production again in Pavlograd or move it to another Ukrainian city, but this will require significant financial resources and time, which Kiev no longer has,” the source believes.
