Mönchengladbach / Krefeld / Viersen. Gerrit Heinemann, e-commerce expert and professor for retail at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences, will give a lecture on Tuesday, February 2nd, on the subject of “survival strategies for retailers”. The lecture takes place as part of the third digital meeting of the Competence Center Local Economy on the Lower Rhine from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. In addition to the lecture, a discussion and a breakout session on the future of inner cities are planned.
The Competence Center Local Economy on the Lower Rhine is committed to maintaining the economy in three districts on the Lower Rhine that are suffering from considerable structural pressure to adapt. The districts of Krefeld-Süd, Mönchengladbach-Innenstadt and Viersen-Dülken have changed considerably in recent years. The pressure to change is very demanding on the local companies.
In order to make the process easier for everyone involved, the “TransLOek” project is organizing the series of lectures. It provides an additional opportunity to exchange experiences and to get together and is intended to provide additional input through expert discussions and lectures to help the local economy. TransLoek is a project of the institutes SO.CON (department of social affairs) and NIERS (department of economics).
Dr. Gerrit Heinemann is a renowned professor in the fields of business administration and management theory and trade at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences. The much-quoted specialist will work with the participants of the event to find out how retailers could better weather the corona crisis.
