“Dardedze Center” campaigns “Imagine yourself in the place of a child!” Klāvs Sedlenieks, a social anthropologist, will address the parents of children on topics: what everyday, in practice means a secure relationship with a child, what is a peaceful society, taboo topics in the family. –

The campaign is mainly targeted at parents of children aged 5-10, as well as any other adult involved in children’s lives.

Social anthropologist Klāvs Sedlenieks will talk about such issues:

• What is a peaceful society?
• How is respect for the child formed and changed in different societies, in different generations?
• Relationships with children as a “family private affair”, taboo topics in the family – what are we so afraid of?

In the social campaign of the organization “Centrs Dardedze” “Imagine yourself instead of a child!” every parent is encouraged to develop skills in building a dignified and secure relationship with their children. Recently, there has been a lot of explanation to the public about what different types of violence do to children, but now is the time to look at this issue from the other side – what it means to have a safe relationship with the child and how to let the child experience it.
