How Queen Elizabeth II’s body was buried, not buried in Tanah Bun

Queen Elizabeth II was buried on Monday (19/9/2022), mother. The funeral procession went through several state ceremonies and was witnessed by millions of pairs of eyes around the world.

However, the body of the queen who led the British Empire for 70 years is not immediately buried as a public cemetery. Her body was not buried in the ground.

After a service attended by only family and close relatives at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, Queen Elizabeth’s coffin was lowered into a kind of royal crypt called the Royal Vault. The safe also contained the coffin of her late husband, Prince Philip, who died last year.

As the queen’s coffin was lowered into the crypt, the Dean of Windsor recited a Bible verse. After that, the King of Arms of the Garter pronounces the long title of Queen Elizabeth II, this is the procession that concludes the public ceremony dedicated to her.

However, the Royal Vault is not called Queen Elizabeth’s last stop. The Queen’s coffin will then be moved to King George VI’s Memorial Chapel at Windsor Castle, along with Prince Philip’s coffin.

For information, all members of the royal family are usually buried in one room. Therefore, their coffins had to be lined with lead to slow the decomposition process.

Not only that, the tin in the coffin is also able to seal and prevent moisture from entering. In this way, it can keep the body intact for up to a year and ensure that any odors and toxins from the corpse do not leave the coffin and harm the environment.
