Illegally imported from Bulgaria parts of vehicles worth a total of 3 million Turkish lira were seized after a police operation in Bursa, local media reported, quoted by 24rodopi.com.
Three people with initials MA , B. S. and J. S. were detained after the operation and the operative-investigative actions against them continue. More people are expected to be detained.
Police teams from the Anti-Smuggling Bureau and the Directorate for Combating Smuggling and Organized Crime stormed the offices of MA, who operated in the Nilufer municipality.
In the course of the operation it was established that luxury vehicles smuggled in from Bulgaria and Georgia were partially or completely dismantled and their parts were installed on local vehicles that had suffered road accidents.
As a result of the search of the premises, car parts worth a total of 3 million Turkish lira were found and seized.
