Only four days separate us from the official unveiling of the system Windows 11, although it will probably not be available until this autumn. It is highly likely that Microsoft will offer Windows 11 as a free update for most Windows 10 users, but it seems that users of older Microsoft systems will probably not be left out either.
Windows 11 free for everyone?
When Microsoft introduced Windows 10 six years ago, it offered Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 users a free update. Although the possibility of a free update was officially terminated after a year, it unofficially works to this day. As a result, “dozens” have begun to settle on many computers and currently run on 1.3 billion devices worldwide. Since Microsoft has set an end date for support for Windows 10, it can be assumed that its goal will be to convert the maximum number of users to Windows 11. And again, it is likely to involve older users in the game.
File PKeyConfig from the leaked version of Windows 11 suggests that the new system will also be able to activate keys from Windows 7, 8 and 8.1. Of course, plans may change, but Microsoft can be expected to continue the policy; offer Windows as a service that will be regularly updated. The question, however, is what period of updates it will set in Remond; dozens were originally improved every six months, but in the last year and a half only service packages were published without visible improvements.
