The journalist asked the minister to comment on the information that this type of pension could be removed from next year. According to Zhakupova, the basic pension will remain, moreover, its size will be increased.
“Our basic pension payment, on the contrary, is increasing. This year, for example, our minimum basic pension was set from 54 to 60 percent of the subsistence level. Starting next year, we will increase this minimum threshold by another 5 percent,” the minister said .
She also announced the upcoming indexation of pension payments.
“Indexation will be carried out at 7 percent of inflation plus 2 percent, for a total of 9 percent. If now the average pension is 120 thousand tenge, then next year it will be 130 thousand,” Zhakupova added.
