We have Core i9-12900K and KF processors, Core i7-12700K and KF processors, and finally Core i5-12600K and KF processors, ie top models of their configurations, which will be unlocked in all cases and in the KF version will have deactivated integrated graphics cores.
Intel will now finally have its 16-core desktops, albeit with a hybrid configuration of eight strong Hyperthreading cores and a weaker eight without it. It is so logical to make a new one Core i9-12900K a KF cost similar to the 16-core Ryzen 9 5950X, which the prices of 741 and 709 euros (K and KF) actually correspond, but we’ll see. And if we really got such prices in our country, Intel would actually be a bit cheaper in real terms, because the Ryzen 9 5950X in our stores will cost more than 790 euros. But that’s really just for fun.
Core i7-12700K a KF could then cost around 520 and 490 euros with taxes, which in turn are amounts corresponding to the competition for the Ryzen 9 5900X with 12 cores, while Intel would also offer its 12 cores here, namely 8 powerful and 4 weaker. Thanks to this, the new Core i7 could become a big hit of the Alder Lake generation, as they promise a full number of powerful cores and half the number of weaker ones can be easier to regret.
Core i5-12600K a KF with prices of about 360 and 330 euros, they would already correspond more to the Ryzen 5 5600X, respectively, these are rather higher amounts, but also a better configuration. Ryzen 5 offers 6 cores, while Core i5 generation Alder Lake 6 powerful + 4 weaker cores. As for the Ryzen 7 5800X, Intel could leave it unanswered for the time being to focus on it with the cheaper Core i7.
So we’ll see, the prices are really still early, but the amounts published seem to match.
