How much money did Barak Becher earn from refusing to join the national team and what is his next goal?

Barak Becher refused the Israeli national team. He did so quite rightly. He is only 44 years old, his career is still ahead of him and it was not the right move financially either. The financial matter was a consideration here, but it was not the main reason why Bacher decided to coach a team in Israel or Europe – as we called him to do here.

First, Bacher knows, and he is also right, that saying yes to the national team means that he will not be able to progress personally. He won three championships in a row with Hapoel Beer Sheva and Maccabi Haifa until he came to coach abroad, returned to Israel with a large compensation and is now aiming for the next goal. True, Maccabi Tel Aviv and Maccabi Haifa is not a higher position than a national team coach (at least not for those who to accept you for the next job.) The record here is important and the position of national team coach is very important for your resume, but on the other hand – it closes other options.

If the Israeli national team could advance from the nearest house – it would be a mistake to refuse it. But the team does not go up, not from an easy house and certainly not a house that includes the lions of Europe – France, Italy and Belgium. Bacher knew this, the association knows this, so he decided that at this stage it would be better for him to train in Israel and from there move on to his next destination in Europe. At the same time, Bacher is also checking options in Europe – but you know very well what happens when Yankel’ calls and calls you to flag.

Don’t get me wrong, Ran Ben Shimon is a correct appointment. We here at the weekend called on Zoertz to stop the drift and announce Ben Shimon as coach on Friday (which he did in the end, although not officially), for several reasons, among other things, because he wants more than Bakr to coach the national team and also because of his experience in coaching the Cypriot national team . This still does not mean that the team will qualify for the next stage, on the contrary – you can say that Ben Shimon is even taking a risk on his career – but his appointment is still correct. There are currently not many senior coaches who can take the team (except Roni Levy) and the choice of him is correct.

As for Bachar, it is important to touch on the economic aspect as well. Bachar earned about 400 thousand dollars in Maccabi Haifa (depending on grants, and still – it was more or less his salary) – in Serbia he earned more than three times – 1.2 million euros. In the Israeli national team he was supposed to earn a relatively high salary for the national team – one hundred thousand shekels per month – something like 320 thousand dollars. That is, less than his salary at Maccabi Haifa at the time.

Something needs to be understood in this context – Bachar comes to negotiations with Maccabi Haifa with two important advantages: 1. Maccabi Haifa is on the way to losing the championship to Maccabi Tel Aviv. 2. Maccabi Tel Aviv wants him and he still hasn’t told her no. The first – plays an important role. Maccabi Haifa will not be able to offer him a salary lower than what he earned, because he will not come. The second is no less important. Maccabi Tel Aviv will be ready to offer Bacher a huge contract if he arrives. Her problem is that she depends on Ruby Keen. The coach was given a message that he will stay and that will happen unless he finds another team in Europe. And it still doesn’t matter – the very fact that Maccabi Tel Aviv has expressed some interest strengthens it for the negotiations with Shahar.

Maccabi Haifa say that it is not a matter of money, that Bacher wants to come, that the contract is not the problem at all. This is true, but that does not mean that Bacher should not squeeze the lemon to the end – he knows that Roni Levy will probably not return to Maccabi Haifa, that a foreigner is not currently on the agenda, and that there are not enough senior coaches on the market who can coach the team. That is, in the pessimistic case, Bacher will earn at least 50-100 thousand euros from not signing with the national team – but this is the small amount.

The big money is hiding somewhere else – future earning capacity. If he signs and takes a championship next season with Maccabi Haifa, the top coach in Israel returns to the European market again or stays for another season with a contract upgrade and grants that increase his average salary. Therefore, the refusal to the national team is not only related to the current contract, but to the long term – it embodies potential and a lot of money that Bacher only needs to raise.

Bachar received little more than a slight blow to the wing when he was dismissed from Serbia. Here he is half a god thanks to his achievements against Hapoel Be’er Sheva and Mbi Haifa. As the coach of Maccabi Tel Aviv in the following seasons, he will be able to record more local achievements and also participate in the Champions League qualifiers.

That everything is money and since Robbie Keane will not withstand the Irish pressure due to the situation, so if Maccabi is agile Bacher will be in yellow next season. Because if everything is money, juice will give more.

Commentators who don’t understand have made Mebacher a great coach, and he is all in all a mediocre coach minus, a successful coach in a neighborhood called Israel.
