Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Attorney General’s Office (AGO) and the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) are currently investigating the alleged corruption case of leasing the ATR 72-600 aircraft. So, how much is the potential loss to the state from this case?
“If it’s an allegation later. It’s still a guess. It’s better later from the prosecutor’s office who conveys the figures after of course confirmed,” said SOE Minister Erick Thohir in a press statement, Tuesday (11/1/2022).
According to him, the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises and the Attorney General’s Office are synchronizing data in investigating allegations of corruption in the leasing of ATR 72-600 aircraft.
“We also hope that this is not only for the Garuda case, there are also many other things that we will push to the Attorney General’s Office for cases in BUMN. So that this is a comprehensive program, not only one issue is taken up,” said Erick.
“But the comprehensive program carried out by the Attorney General’s Office in collaboration with SOEs is in the form of assistance and law enforcement. And I think it’s time for the elements in the SOEs to be cleaned up, and this is our main goal to keep the SOEs healthy,” he continued.
Furthermore, Erick said, the data submitted also involved other institutions, in this case the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP).
Burhanuddin said close coordination between the AGO and the Ministry of SOEs would continue to be maintained. After handling the alleged corruption in Jiwasraya and Asabri, now the problem is related to Garuda Indonesia.
“What we talked about earlier was the restructuring of Garuda. Second, the report related to the ATR 72-600,” said Burhanuddin.
On that occasion, he ensured that the AGO fully supports the steps taken by the Ministry of SOEs in the context of ‘cleaning up’ SOEs.
“A clean SOE will certainly be better under the leadership of the minister. The AGO will support continue, “said Burhanuddin.
Furthermore, he said, the alleged corruption in leasing the ATR 72-600 aircraft was carried out in the era of the leadership of the president director with the initials AS.
“This (aircraft rental) ATR is US era … (the person in question) is still in custody as well,” Burhanuddin said.
