Dacia Duster facelift was presented on June 22, with new cosmetic changes, as well as a technological upgrade. If we look at the market in France, where the new Duster will be marketed in July, there will be slight changes in the sales strategy of the Romanian brand. Here’s how much the Dacia Duster facelift costs after the new adjustments.
The second generation of Dacia Duster entered the Romanian market in November 2017 and proved to be an instant success for the Romanian brand. After almost four years of career, the Dacia SUV received a well-deserved update, on which occasion the design was aligned with the new image introduced by the new Logan / Sandero. The cosmetic changes were completed by the new equipment, the improved engines, but also by the introduction of the EDC dual-clutch gearbox – the most important novelty brought by the facelift.
With each new generation introduced by Dacia on the market, the technological upgrade was consistent and was reflected in a reasonable increase in the selling price. We expect this not to change in the case of Duster facelift. However, the extent to which the new Duster will become more expensive compared to the model now on the market is difficult to specify. Let us not forget that it has benefited from reductions applied over time, as development costs have been amortized.
How much does the Dacia Duster facelift cost after the new changes?
On the French market, where the new model will be marketed from 5 July (In Romania, the new Dacia Duster will be available only from September), the prices of the new Duster have already been announced. These mark some changes, among the most notable being the withdrawal of the TCe 90 engine, which will continue its career in Romania. Duster has always been cheaper in France than in Romania, given that the Access equipment (12,490 euros in France), entry-level, was not sold in Romania. The second equipment, Essential, has a starting price of 15,500 euros in France, both with the TCe 90 engine and with the bi-fuel Eco-G 100 (petrol-LPG). In Romania, with the TCe 90 engine, Duster Essential costs 14,050 euros, but there are differences in equipment.
For the new model, the French have an entry price in the range of 14,490 (Essential equipment, Eco-G 100 engine, the TCe 90 engine disappears. Even if it seems to be cheaper than the model it replaces, in fact it is not, the French walking In other words, in order to afford a lower starting price, the Dacia Duster facelift gives up certain features that have been added to the list of options, for example, the Duster’s basic equipment now lacks air conditioning. , which becomes optional (900 euros).
For the other equipment levels, the new Duster is more expensive than the generation it replaces. Thus, the Comfort equipment starts from 16,850, compared to 16,600 euros, and the Prestige equipment costs from 18,100 euros, compared to 17,700 euros at present.
What are the expected Dacia Duster facelift prices for Romania?
It is interesting to find out what strategy Dacia will adopt in Romania, given the different options of Romanian users. On the one hand, Romanians prefer superior equipment, so Dacia will not feel the need to lower the starting price of Essential equipment to approach that of a weaker previous equipment (Access from France did not exist in Romania). Consequently, we expect an insignificant increase in prices of several hundred euros and, possibly, an adjustment of the range of equipment.
The new Dacia Duster facelift version was generally well received by Romanians, as evidenced by comments on social networks. Everyone is now waiting for the price list to be able to make their purchase plans.
