The bill for the health crisis is heavy for Health Insurance. Each test to detect Covid-19 costs Social Security an average of 43.20 euros. Side vaccination, two doses of Pfizer are supported, and cost 31 euros. In a vaccination center, the mobilization of a doctor for a day is estimated at 420 euros, and 220 euros for a nurse. In a doctor’s office, the price of a dose of vaccine is cheaper: 1.78 euros, but we must add the price of the consultation of 25 euros, and the premiums that doctors can receive for each patient, around 15 euros. .
In all, 4.3 billion euros would be provided in the 2021 budget of the government to manage the crisis. More precisely, two billion euros are allocated to tests, 700 million euros to the distribution of masks to people in need, and 100 million euros for Public Health France. Finally, 1.5 billion was released for vaccination, which includes the purchase of doses, equipment, and the remuneration of caregivers. But in March, this budget has already been doubled, and is expected to increase further.
