It is known that the revenues of global car manufacturers are measured in billions. Analysts have compiled a rating of companies with the highest income per unit time – for every second of the year.
Uswitch is the insurance company that made these calculations. The company revealed which major manufacturers in the automotive industry earn more than others in one second.
Toyota, Japan’s largest carmaker and the world’s second-largest carmaker, is the leader in terms of revenue per second. The Japanese car giant makes $ 8,731 every second, ranking first on the list of the most profitable car manufacturers.
Toyota’s revenue per minute, hourly and yearly is $ 523,889, $ 31.4 million and $ 275 billion, respectively.
The closest company to Toyota in this regard is Volkswagen. The German automobile concern makes 8073 dollars every second. Both Toyota and Volkswagen AG are ahead of Daimler AG, the parent company of Mercedes-Benz, in third place in the to-th ranking, earning $ 5,589 per second.
In the Top 10 of this ranking, experts put companies such as Honda, Mitsubishi, Ford, General Motors, BMW and Stellanti, which respectively rank from fourth to ninth place.
It closes the list of the 10 most profitable car manufacturers Nissan, with annual sales of 91 billion dollars. In this way, the Japanese brand receives $ 2,882 every second
Their income data is not a secret, as almost all car manufacturers report their sales and revenue data at least once a quarter, if not monthly. The interesting thing in this rating is that the annual and quarterly revenues of car manufacturers are broken down into seconds.
Analysts also note that 2020 is an abnormal year for the automotive industry in many ways. Therefore, they calculated the profitability of car manufacturers for the period from 2016 to 2020, with Volkswagen on average being the most profitable company with a result of 192.6 billion pounds per year. Toyota and Daimler follow.
Last December, a similar study by other analysts ranked Toyota first in the number of cars produced per minute: on average, the Japanese assemble 19.9 cars per minute. The concern has become a leader in terms of revenue per minute. In December, the amount was 533 thousand dollars, which is generally comparable to current estimates.
