“How many UNAM books are there against corruption?” Asks AMLO – Cafe Negro Portal

Again the president attacked the UNAM.

Today, in a new attack, he reiterated that the Maximum House of Studies “went right” during the neoliberal period, and that Salinism cooperated with the researchers.

“Help me find the books,” he asked.

In the morning conference this Tuesday at the National Palace, López Obrador asked reporters to count how many treaties, books or essays there are about the corruption that prevailed during the neoliberal period.

“Of course the UNAM was right in the neoliberal period because they said nothing during the largest looting in the history of Mexico, nothing,” he said.

“Help me find the UNAM books during the neoliberal period questioning the corruption that has prevailed in the 36 years. Let’s see, how many treatises, books, essays on corruption? ”He declared.

“And how many treatises, books or essays on the delivery of assets of the Nation to articulate in the government of Salinas? They will not find many because Salinas cooperated with all the intellectuals or academics, not all but the majority, ”he said.

After federal deputy Gabriel Quadri called for a march against López Obrador for his statements against UNAM, the Mexican president celebrated that they “do something” even if it is to protest against him.

“They are saying ‘the president offends us’, I would say hopefully and they will do it (the march) even if it is to march against us, but that they do something. Conservatism generates a kind of political harassment (…) that they do something, because they burned themselves, ”he declared.

López Obrador began his attacks against the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) since last Thursday, which he accused of having “turned right” and not having been “up to the task” during what he calls the “neoliberal period. ”.

He reiterated that the largest university in Latin America “lost its essence” in previous governments, became a defender of neoliberalism and promoted “individualist” thinking.
