How many tanks did Russia lose in a year of large-scale war – ISW called the figure

Russia loses dozens of pieces of equipment at the front every day. In particular, Western analysts have noted what can be compared with the number of liquidated enemy tanks by the Armed Forces from the very beginning of a full-scale offensive.

As of February 19, it was known that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had sent another 590 invaders to Kobzon’s concert, according to the General Staff. In addition, the enemy continues to suffer insane losses in technology. Actually, from all the liquidated Russian tanks, 16 tank regiments could be formed.

Russia is having a hard time restoring its combat capabilities

Experts stated that it is now very difficult for the enemy to restore their tank units. In addition, the latest intelligence estimates provided by the Oryx organization confirm the loss of Russian tanks in more than 1,000 units. In addition, it is known that another 500 pieces of equipment were captured by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This means that Russia lost half of its pre-war tank fleet already in the first year of the war (big war – Channel 24). To restore two tank regiments from scratch, about 200 tanks are needed, which the Kremlin probably does not have in sufficient stocks and will not be able to quickly produce,

Note that we are talking about the T-72B and T-72B3M tanks. At least 100 tanks are required to form one tank regiment.

Note! Insane losses in tank units affect the effectiveness, in particular, of motorized rifle formations. Also, the lack of a sufficient number of restored tank regiments and brigades deprives the Russian ground forces of making breakthroughs in certain sectors of the front.

Losses of the occupiers: actual

  • The official statistics of the General Staff as of February 19 indicate that the enemy’s tank losses are 3 times greater than Western analysts note. Actually, we are talking about 3310 pieces of equipment.
  • In addition, footage of the work of the 93rd brigade of the Kholodny Yar Armed Forces is actively circulating on the net. After watching this video from the Ministry of Defense, no one will have any doubts that soon Russia will have no tanks at all.
  • At the same time, the mayor of Melitopol in the Zaporozhye region, Ivan Fedorov, said that the enemy was sending units of the PMC “Wagner” to the region. According to him, soon the “elite” of the invaders would return home. However already in black packages.
