Arath de la Torre Balmaceda is recognized in the national artistic world for his stellar participation as a host in various television programs, as well as leading roles in successful Televisa soap operas: ‘Una familia con suerte’, ‘Antes muerta que Lichita’ or ‘Amigas y rivales’, to name a few.
During his nearly 30-year career in the entertainment industry, he has been involved in several controversies related to his work, his political stance and his lifestyle. The host of the program ‘Hoy’ was born on March 20, 1975 in Cancun, Quintana Roo. According to various interviews he has given in recent years, he discovered his passion for acting when he was a teenager. His interest was so strong that he made the decision to abandon his academic studies when he was around 17 years old to look for a place at the Televisa Center for Artistic Education (CEA).
His efforts paid off, as producers from the television station were smitten with his talent and offered him a role in ‘Caminos Cruzados’ when he was only 20 years old. Over time, he not only proved that he is an excellent drama actor, but also a comedy actor in programs such as ‘La Parodia’.
As for his personal life, he fell in love with actress Susy Lu in the halls of Televisa. After formalizing their relationship, they decided to take the next step and got married in April 2007.

The couple became parents for the first time the same year of their wedding; they welcomed their first-born daughter Gala (currently 17 years old). Years later their second son named Lucca (14 years old) was born and in 2016 they met the youngest member of their family: Lía (8).
Arath de la Torre’s wife was born on November 6, 1984 in Sonora; she is currently 39 years old. She studied acting at the Televisa Center for Artistic Education (CEA). Among her most important projects are ‘Mujer, casos de la vida real’ and ‘Así son ellas’.
